SOE plans commencement celebrations

The School of Education (SoE) will hold two celebrations in honor of its graduates this spring:

SoE Reception and Hooding Ceremony for PhD and MFA Degree Recipients

Friday, May 14, 2010
3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
Nicholas-Johnson Pavilion (adjoining the Kohl Center)
601 W. Dayton Street
(The University's commencement exercises in the Kohl Center begin at 5:30 p.m.) 

Individual invitations and registration information were sent via e-mail to all degree candidates in mid-April. Graduates are required to register for the event by Friday May 7, 2010.  The event is free to graduates and their guests.  Questions to Judy Holt: 608/265-7875 or

All graduates participating in the ceremony, and their faculty escorts, must be present by 3:45 p.m with their commencement regalia. The hooding ceremony begins at 4:00 p.m. 

Parking:  UW Lot 46, on the corner of Lake Street and W. Johnson Street will open at 2:00 p.m. for free parking.  Also, public parking is available for a nominal fee in the Lake Street Municipal Ramp, one block north (toward the lake) of Lot 46.

Nicholas-Johnson Pavilion:  As you're facing the Kohl Center on Dayton Street, the pavilion is to your right or west.  Enter at Gate B of the Kohl Center; the pavilion entrance is to your right.


SoE Commencement Breakfast for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Recipients

Individual invitations and registration information were sent via e-mail to all degree candidates in mid-April. Graduates are required to register online for the event by Monday, May 3, 2010.  The event is free to the graduate; guests are welcome at a cost of $7.50/person.  Questions to Nancy Nelson at 608/262-0054 or or to Judy Holt at or 608/265-7875.
