Department of Counseling Psychology helping to host Hmong Parents’ Day 3

Hmong Parents’ Day 3 –- which is hosted by the Hmong Research Team of UW-Madison’s Department of Counseling Psychology -– is taking place Saturday, March 29.

This is a campus event that runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and invites Hmong parents of UW-Madison students onto campus to increase their college knowledge and sense of efficacy to support their children in higher education.

This is the third time the event, which is free, has been held, with previous versions taking place in 2011 and 2012.

The Hmong Research Team, which is led by UW-Madison Professor Alberta Gloria, the chair of the Department of Counseling Psychology, includes undergraduates (McNair Scholars), masters and doctoral students. It has several different projects currently in progress and in review for publication. Team members are from Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Educational Policy, Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, Psychology, and Nursing.
