Minero, Herrera receive award from National Latina/o Psychological Association

October 19, 2014

UW-Madison’s Laura Minero and Nancy Herrera were selected as National Latina/o Psychological Association Student Travel Scholarship Recipients and will attend the 2014 Biennial Conferencia: “Dreamers, Immigration and Social Justice: Advancing a Global Latina/o Psychology Agenda.”

Minero and Herrera each are first-year doctoral students with the School of Education’s Department of Counseling Psychology.

The conference takes place Oct. 23 to 25 in Albuquerque, N.M., and Minero and Herrera are among 16 student scholarship recipients who were selected for the award.

The National Latina/o Psychological Association’s mission is to advance psychological education and training, scientific practice and organizational change to enhance the overall well-being of Hispanic and Latina/o populations.
