Perez-Chavez serving as Scientific Program Graduate Student Assistant for APA's Division 45

UW-Madison’s Jessica Perez-Chavez will be assisting with the review and selection process for Division 45’s scientific programming at the American Psychological Association’s 2018 Annual Convention.

Perez-Chavez is a Ph.D. student with the School of Education’s Department of Counseling Psychology and will be serving as the Scientific Program Graduate Student Assistant for the division.

APA’s Division 45 is the Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity and Race. This division encourages research on ethnic minority issues and the application of psychological knowledge to ethnic minority issues. The division promotes public welfare through research and encourages professional relationships among psychologists who share these concerns and interests.

Membership includes a subscription to the peer-reviewed quarterly journal Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority Psychology, and the division newsletter, Focus, which is published two to three times per year.

The APA Annual Convention runs Aug. 9-12 in San Francisco.
