Doctoral student Yulish implores us to think seriously about ADHD
Noah Yulish, a UW-Madison doctoral student who is studying counseling psychology, earlier this summer published an interesting blog for the Huffington Post that provides contextualized and thoughtful perspectives about ADHD. The post explains how Yulish attended a panel discussion this past spring at UW-Madison that featured the Dalai Lama and was titled, "Change Your Mind, Change the World."

SERP, which is sponsored by the School of Education and the university’s Graduate School, is an eight–week program that provides underrepresented undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing graduate studies in academic fields within the School of Education an opportunity to engage in independent research guided by a faculty mentor.
Students reflect on ‘transformative’ service-learning trip to Guatemala
In three of the past five years, UW-Madison Professor Steve Quintana has led groups of graduate students to Guatemala to provide a cultural and professional immersion into psychological services and research in Latin America. Most recently, in May, Quintana returned with a multidisciplinary team of graduate students from the School of Education.

Valdez to receive Outstanding Women of Color Award
The School of Education’s Carmen Valdez has been selected to receive a 2013 UW-Madison Outstanding Women of Color (OWoCA) Award for her achievements and contributions to campus and the community. The annual reception honoring these women is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lowell Center.
